MÜNTER TESTS OUT THE NEW PAVEMENT AT DAYTONA
Best lap of 181.815 mph puts Leilani 14th on the charts on final day of testing
DAYTONA BEACH, FL (January 13, 2011) Leilani Münter drove a Ford owned by Andy Hillenburg to 14th on the charts with a lap of 181.815 mph on Thursday afternoon testing at Daytona International Speedway. Although many cars were drafting during the final session, Leilani's time came in a single car run with no drafting help. It was Münter's fourth ARCA test at Daytona, but her first time on the new pavement.
"The track is very smooth," said Leilani, "I do miss the old Daytona, especially when you are doing single car runs, the bumps were what made you feel how fast you were really going. It's a new surface but it's still Daytona, with all it's storied history, and I think the smooth surface is going to make for some really exciting racing next month. Hopefully I will find a sponsor and will be on the starting grid on February 12."
Leilani has a top ARCA team ready to field a car for her in the season opener at Daytona on February 12, 2011. Interested parties please contact marketing@leilanimunter.com.
Leilani's 2011 plans are to run the ten televised ARCA races which offer the most exposure for her sponsors. The schedule includes six races coupled with the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series starting with Daytona International Speedway on February 12, followed by Talladega Superspeedway on April 15, two events at Pocono International Speedway on June 11 and August 6, Michigan Speedway on June 17, and Kansas Speedway on October 7. Three other events are coupled with NASCAR Nationwide starting with Chicagoland Speedway on June 4, Iowa Speedway on July 16, and O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis on July 28, the same weekend the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series races at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. The finale at Toledo Speedway will also be televised, with ARCA being the headlining series at that final event.
